The TASO Awards of Excellence are awarded to a volunteer, business, and legislator or patron (three awards are given) in recognition for outstanding service, support and promotion of the interests and growth of symphony orchestras.

  • The Volunteer Award is defined as a person who has served in a volunteer capacity above and beyond his/her volunteer role.
  • The Business Award is defined as a business that has shown exceptional service, support and/or promotion of the interests and growth of a symphony orchestra
  • The Legislator Award is defined as a person who has shown support for the arts as a legislator
  • The Patron Award is defined as a person who has given financial support to a symphony orchestra, but not necessarily been active in the Member Organization

RECOGNIZED PROJECTS
Projects: Education, Fundraising, Service
June 30, 2009 through June 29, 2010
 
DEADLINE: Must be received no later than August 1, 2010

Each TASO member organization is encouraged to submit projects nominations to the Recognized Projects Committee.  The Recognized Projects Committee will review these projects and select three winners from each category to present PowerPoint presentations at the 2011 TASO annual conference in Austin.  These presentations will be judged and a winner selected.
 
  
Education/Audience Development is defined as a project whose primary function is to further the audience's knowledge and understanding of orchestral music.
 
Fundraising is defined as a project whose primary function is to raise money.
 
Service/Membership Development is defined as a project performed for orchestras or member organizations without paying any fees to hire someone to do the project, or to use paid staff to do that job.
 
 
Please submit reports using the following guidelines:
1.      All projects must have taken place between June 30, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
2.      Projects should be submitted online by e-mail.
3.      Include Cover Sheet filled out completely with each application.
4.      Only two projects per category (Education/Audience Development, Fundraising
                  and  Service/Membership Development) will be accepted.
5.      Keep a copy of all the forms you submit.
7.      Make sure all forms are clear and concise.
 
 
DEADLINE: Must Be Received No Later Than August 1, 2010.  As you complete these forms, please return by e-mail rather than waiting until the August 1st deadline.
